The Culinary Arts 30th Anniversary Gala: Celebrating Jacques Pépin was a sold-out success last week. Held at the Hotel Commonwealth on Wednesday night, the gala raised $210,000 in support of the Jacques Pépin Legacy Fund and Boston University’s programs in food and wine.
The event was in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of BU’s certificate program in Culinary Arts, which Pépin, Julia Child, and Rebecca Alssid founded.
During the evening, Pépin did a cooking demonstration for attendees. Among the crowd were the event’s host, chef Jeremy Sewall from Creek Oyster Bar and Row 34; Dana Cowin, former editor of Food & Wine magazine; chef Ming Tsai of Blue Dragon; and more.
