Book celebrates New York Times puzzlemaster Will Shortz

Will Shortz has been puzzle editor of The New York Times for as long as a) Rip Van Winkle slept in a mountain hollow, b) William the Conqueror ruled England, or (sorry, Red Sox fans) c) the Yankees have had consecutive winning seasons. The answer is “a.’’ To mark Shortz's achievement, St. Martin’s has published “Will’s Best: Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of The New York Times Puzzlemaster.” The 400 crossword puzzles from the daily Times progress from easy to hard and reflect Shortz’s interest in puzzles that are playful and tuned into today’s culture.
