So Tom Brady will not be the only Patriot to have a new book coming out in the fall.
Star wide receiver Julian Edelman announced on Twitter this morning that his memoir, “Relentless,’’ written with CSNNE personality Tom E. Curran, will hit the shelves on Oct. 24.
Edelman has had something of a storybook rise in the NFL. From California, the little-known Kent State quarterback went to the Pats in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL draft, and coach Bill Belichick turned him into a receiver.
Edelman, who is a two-time Super Bowl champion, is very close to Brady and came up with an acrobatic key catch in the Patriots’ come from behind victory against Atlanta in this year’s Super Bowl.
“Relentless’’ will not be Edelman’s first literary foray. Last year he published a children’s book, “Flying High,’’ a thinly-veiled autobiographical tale about small, slow squirrel who wants to become a football player and is lifted up by a goat named Tom who advises him to work hard.
While Edelman’s books have been autobiographical, Tom Brady’s “The TB12 Method: How to Achieve a Lifetime of Sustained Peak Performance’’ will focus on his training method and is slated for release Sept. 19.Paul S. Makishima can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
