New ‘50 Shades of Grey’ trailer released

The second trailer for the much-hyped movie adaptation of the erotic E.L. James best-selling romance novel “50 Shades of Grey” was released during Thursday night’s episode of the often steamy Shonda Rhimes ABC series “Scandal.”

The film, starring Dakota Johnson as college student Anastasia Steele and Jamie Dornan as businessman Christian Grey, is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson. It’s slated to be released Feb. 13, 2015.

The first trailer, released in July, set the stage for the upcoming movie, but this latest trailer introduces more scenes as well as new characters.

Jennifer Ehle plays Anastasia’s mother, Carla May Wilks, and Eloise Mumford plays her best friend, Kate Kavanagh.

Beyonce delivers a new song in this trailer: “Haunted.” The singer’s sexy re-recorded version of her single “Crazy in Love” was included in the first trailer.

The 2011 novel, the first in a trilogy, was originally self-published before it was picked up by Vintage Books in 2012. It flew off the shelves as the fastest-selling paperback ever. It has sold more than 100 million copies worldwide.

While the novel has been panned by some critics for its poor quality of writing, it has seduced readers with its explicit sex scenes, often described as pornographic.
