BSO’s Insights series

The upcoming performances of Britten’s “War Requiem” (Nov. 7-9 in Symphony Hall) coincide with the debut of the BSO’s new Insights series, with chamber music programs and discussions grouped around the related theme of music and pacifism. These programs include a performance and poetry reading with the Hawthorne String Quartet Sunday afternoon at the Kennedy Library and Museum; lectures and discussions with film screenings this week at Symphony Hall; pre-concert talks with the English author Michael Foster; and a program of Britten’s vocal music at New England Conservatory. www.bso.org.
