Adele's new "Hello" is a serious song about trying to connect with an old love. (In case you haven't heard.) But that hasn't kept her from having a little fun with it.

On Monday night, the singer appeared on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." She participated in the show's regular feature in which Fallon and his house band The Roots accompany a singer on toy instruments. Fallon, as usual, hammed it up and the band got down with toy xylophones and a banana-shaped maraca. Adele did Adele, and sang her face off.

In the middle of the bit, the 27-year-old British singer picked up a toy flip phone, an obvious allusion to the phone featured in the music video for "Hello."

The flip phone has been the subject of Internet memes that mock the fact that Adele has a phone that no one except your grandmother has used since 2003.

Others who have participated in "The Tonight Show"'s classroom instruments feature include Mass. native Meghan Trainor, Mariah Carey, and Carly Rae Jepsen.
