Monday Night Television

Critic’s corner: What’s on TV tonight

Jordin Althaus/NBC

Take It All 9 p.m., Channel 7

A new game show! And it stars Howie Mandel! And he still has his soul patch! And it will air all week at 9 on NBC! And it’s a version of Yankee Swap with some gambling thrown in! I haven’t been this excited since the board game version of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” hit the market.

The Thorn Birds 8 p.m., Encore

Encore decided to go big with miniseries this fall. So far, the network has reaired “Lonesome Dove,” “Gulliver’s Travels,” “Shogun,” and “The Pillars of the Earth,” among others. Tonight, Encore is dragging out the old classic, “The Thorn Birds,” with Richard Chamberlain as the priest. Tragedy, triumph, love, death, sheep, and dust.
