Critic’s corner: What’s on TV tonight

Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade  10 a.m., Channel 5

I know you’d much rather gaze lovingly at the gorgeous red, green, and white sweater you just got for Christmas. But if you can put it down, you can watch this massive promotional event for Disney, with performances by Lady Antebellum, Backstreet Boys, TobyMac, Brad Paisley, and Phillip Phillips. Look for a bunch of ABC stars, including some of the kids from “Modern Family,” with Nick Cannon (pictured), Mario Lopez, and Maria Menounos hosting.

New Girl marathon  8-10 p.m., Channel 25

Test yourself. Do you think you can handle four episodes in a row? This sitcom has gotten better over the year, as it shifted from a star vehicle for Zooey Deschanel to an ensemble sitcom. It’s not a groundbreaking show in any possible way, but it belongs with “Happy Endings” as it folds in issues about being in your 20s — love, money, sex — with punchy jokes about OCD and broken penises.
