SWIMMING WITH SHARKS

(Comcast Free Movies) Young showbiz climber endures monstrous abuse from macho producer, keeps his mouth shut, and learns. Fun when it celebrates Hollywood’s excess while pretending to be horrified by it; succumbs to slackness when the underling tries his hand at revenge. Kevin Spacey is a hoot as the outrageous one. (R; runs through Jan 16)

BIG MOMMA’S HOUSE ½

(Cinemax on Comcast) Martin Lawrence and a lot of silicone star as an FBI agent who climbs into a fat suit to impersonate a Georgia matriarch so he can nab a vicious escaped bank robber. Pretty prefab, but warm and lively. Nia Long, as an accomplice the FBI man falls for, is among the plusses. (PG-13; runs through Jan 17)

HALL PASS

(Cinemax on Comcast) Bobby and Peter Farrelly’s comedy makes a gimmicky first impression. The wives (Jenna Fischer, Christina Applegate) of two suburban salesmen (Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis) give their men a week to cheat. If the Farrellys are chasing social fads, their movie serves as hilarious forensic evidence of the precipitous downside of some would-be trends. (R; runs through Jan 17)
