Critic’s corner: What’s on TV tonight

Shameless Sunday at 9 p.m., Showtime

There was a lovely sequence of scenes in last week’s excellent episode, as little Debbie (played with the right gentle touch by Emma Kenney, above) consoled the depressed Sheila (Joan Cusack). She skipped school to help, just as she used to help her mother. I love it when “Shameless” gets all tender and stuff. The business about Frank becoming a gay icon is also perfect — funny and absurd and so much more satisfying than that creepy subplot about Vanessa’s mother. On Sunday, Frank figures out how to cash in on his newfound celebrity.

Kids’ Choice Awards Saturday at 8 p.m., Nickelodeon

Wow. I just got back from the Nickelodeon website. It’s so bright and happy and neon! I have a headache! I’m seeing trails! “Transformers” star Josh Duhamel (above) is the host of this 26th annual celebration, which honors kids’ favorites in TV, music, movies, and sports. Among the performers: Pitbull, Christina Aguilera, and Ke$ha.

Wicked Single Sunday at 11 p.m., VH1

Chubs turns 30. Physically.

The Good Wife Sunday at 9 p.m., Channel 4

Could Matthew Perry’s return be any more welcome?

Vikings Sunday at 10 p.m., History
