Some of it is overcaffeinated, manic, and disarmingly sloppy. Some of it is sentimental and message-y. But the movie surmounts its shabbiness, chiefly because Vardalos and Collette work so naturally together. With David Duchovny. (PG-13; runs through June 6)

(Comcast Movie Collections: All New Movies) From the great Cristian Mungiu (“4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days”), a story of an attempted exorcism in modern-day Romania — based on actual events — that uses scrupulous naturalism to paint a quietly outraged tragedy. Cosmina Stratan and Cristina Flutur are moving as a young nun and her troubled childhood friend. In Romanian, with subtitles. (Unrated; runs through June 10)

(Showtime on Comcast) The smart, funny, assured debut of Steven Soderbergh, this film rejiggered romantic comedy for the ’80s, and probably the ’90s, too, as soft-spoken voyeuristic dropout James Spader uses videotapes to get the lies out of the sex in a yuppie enclave of Baton Rouge. (R; runs through June 4)
