(Comcast Movie Collections: All New Movies) Writer-director Seth MacFarlane’s debut feature is a crass, foulmouthed, mostly hilarious, surprisingly sentimental bromance about a grown boy named John (Mark Wahlberg) and his bong-huffing teddy bear (voiced by MacFarlane). It’s really about that screw-up friend you want to outgrow but can’t. With Mila Kunis and a Boston vibe that feels close to the real thing. (R; runs through June 28)

BAD LIEUTENANT: PORT OF CALL NEW ORLEANS ½

(Comcast Free Movies) Nicolas Cage is back in his high lunatic mode as a New Orleans police detective investigating a murder while high and corrupt. He’s working with the hellion, Werner Herzog. Their pairing is about as perfect a meeting between a director’s sense of mischief and an actor’s license to misbehave as a moviegoer could hope for. With a never-better Eva Mendes as Cage’s hooker girlfriend. (R; runs through July 3)

NURSE BETTY ½

(Showtime on Comcast) The zigs and zags of this light dark comedy — or maybe it’s a dark light comedy — pop Renée Zellweger’s career up a couple of notches. She plays a gentle Kansas waitress traumatized by witnessing a brutal murder; she lights out for LA, under the impression that she’s going to become the soul mate of the doctor who’s her favorite soap-opera character. Hit men Morgan Freeman and Chris Rock have other ideas. So, for that matter, does Greg Kinnear, as the actor playing the doc on the soap. (R; runs through July 9)
