Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular 7 p.m., Channel 4

This year, our local event will not be aired nationally. OK, whatever, country. So you’re more interested in seeing the New York display, which NBC is airing. Oooh, Mariah Carey and Tim McGraw. Anyhow, our local CBS outlet, WBZ-TV, is airing the Esplanade event, and it will feature Susan Tedeschi, Howie Day, Ayla Brown, and Ellis Hall. The setting off of the fireworks begin at 9:30.

The Twilight Zone marathon 8 a.m.-6 a.m., Syfy

It’s special that Syfy continues to run “Twilight Zone” marathons, paying homage to the show that is wound into its DNA. This particular collection of 44 episodes includes a few favorites, including “The Howling Man” (11 p.m.), in which the devil gets loose, along with some primitive special effects; the cleverly titled “To Serve Man” (9 p.m.); and the “Lost”-like “Odyssey of Flight 33” (11:30 p.m.), where a plane gets stuck passing through the sound barrier.
