Critic’s corner: What’s on TV Tuesday

Adam Rose/FOX

Glee 8 p.m., Fox

Those chirpy kids from Ohio — and New York — return, and tensions are flaring once again. Although, now that I think of it, there’s usually some degree of flaring going on every week, but it’s generally Kurt’s (Chris Colfer) nostrils when he’s singing songs from “Wicked.” Tonight, Rachel (Lea Michele) gets upset when Santana (Naya Rivera) successfully auditions to be her understudy in “Funny Girl.” C’mon Santana, stop raining on Rachel’s parade. Back in Lima, Artie (Kevin McHale) and Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) duke it out for the title of class valedictorian.

Game of Arms 10 p.m., AMC

There is a lot of testosterone flowing over on AMC tonight with the new reality show “Game of Arms.” Angry-looking guys with huge biceps try to embarrass their opponents (usually in front of family members) in the only sport where hand-holding is mandatory. The show focuses on arm wrestling teams from across the country. Tonight, the California Arm Benders try to take down the powerhouse New York City Arms Control team, led by the high school chemistry teacher Mike Selearis. I suspect Selearis’s students are very well behaved.
