Critic’s corner: What’s on TV Thursday

Byron Cohen/FX

You’re the Worst 10:30 p.m., FX

I’m fond of this wonderfully profane new comedy, even though it’s still finding its balance. The couple at the center of the show, Gretchen and Jimmy (Aya Cash and Chris Geere) hate all the romantic clichés. The source of their bond is that they’re both semi-awful people who profess not to care about finding love and who enjoy hurling insults at each other. In Thursday’s episode, they go on an official date, which is marred when they are seated at — yuck, am I right? — a family-style restaurant table.

Project Runway 9 p.m., Lifetime

Season 13? Wow. A new collection of colorful creative types do their thing for Nina Garcia, Zac Posen, Heidi Klum, and mother hen Tim Gunn. The talented group will be sewing fabric and seeds of discontent simultaneously. In the premiere, the designers discover that three of them will be auf’ed before the end of the episode. This season’s guest judges will include Elisabeth Moss, Christian Siriano, and Julie Bowen.
