“SMILF,” the new comedy from Boston native Frankie Shaw, is due Nov. 5 on Showtime. About a single mom in South Boston, the promo for the show features these three words: “Single. Smart. Southie.”

Now, another local native, Jen Kirkman, is coming to the scripted TV comedy world. ABC has just put her project, “The Mighty Quinn,” into development. The show is about 39-year-old Quinn, who, after getting dumped by her boyfriend on Christmas Day, takes a year off from dating to find herself.

And so the ranks of Boston-area-bred comic actors who’ve made TV series keeps growing. We’re responsible for Amy Poehler, Denis Leary, Steve Carell, BJ Novak, Mindy Kaling, John Krasinski, Mike Birbiglia, Conan O’Brien, Matt LeBlanc, Louis C.K., Rachel Dratch, and OK I’ll stop now.
