USA Network has submitted Meghan Markle for Emmy consideration for her role as Rachel Zane in “Suits,” a network representative told the Globe Wednesday.

Markle, who married Prince Harry last month, was submitted in the supporting actress category, the network said. Her co-star Sarah Rafferty — who plays Donna on the show and was also spotted at Markle’s royal wedding — was also submitted for consideration in the same category.

Markle is reportedly the first British royal to be submitted for Emmy consideration.

Meanwhile, Patrick J. Adams, who played Markle’s on-screen boyfriend-turned-husband on the show, was submitted in the lead actor category alongside Gabriel Macht.
