There is only one episode left in HBO’s smash hit “Game of Thrones,” and fans are already calling for a redo.
A fan-created petition on Change.org calls for season eight of “Thrones” to be remade with “competent writers.”
“David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on. This series deserves a final season that makes sense,” petition creator Dylan D. said in his post.
As of 7 a.m., the petition had more than 300,000 signatures.
Fans, and critics, have grumbled about various aspects of season eight. The Battle of Winterfell was too dark. A to-go coffee mug was left in one scene in episode four. Critics have called out the final season’s “hasty pace and sudden personality shifts.”

Reshooting the eight-episode season would cost approximately $120 million, with each episode of the season reportedly cost some $15 million. Not to mention that redoing episode three, “The Long Night,” which featured the longest consecutive battle ever filmed, might take just as long to shoot as the original episode did (55 nights).
The final episode of the medieval fantasy epic airs May 19 at 9 p.m. on HBO, when fans will finally find out who sits on the Iron Throne.
