Marking the 30th anniversary of the ‘Seinfeld’ premiere
Sweet fancy Moses! July 5 is going to be the 30th anniversary of the premiere of “Seinfeld” — well, technically, it was the premiere of “The Seinfeld Chronicles,” which was the original title.
Naturally, celebratory articles will be written, Twitter will sport a bunch of yada-yada memes, and TV will give us a marathon. On July 5, TBS will feature “Bestivus,” airing what the channel has deemed the 30 best episodes.
The nothingness will begin at 6 a.m. with “The Chinese Restaurant,” and end at 8:30 p.m. with “The Frogger,” the one in which Elaine gets caught on video eating (and dancing with) Mr. Peterman’s piece of cake from King Edward VIII’s wedding to Wallis Simpson. In between, look for “The Contest,” “The Rye,” “The Soup Nazi,” and “The Little Kicks.”
