Stocks slide on Wall Street, extending sell-off


Stocks slid again — two days after the election and a day after the Dow had its biggest one-day drop of the year — as investors fretted about gridlock in Washington over the fiscal cliff and ­Europe’s problems. Both could slow the economy. Stocks are still up for 2012 but below the peak hit in Sept. as the Fed launched a third round of bond-buying.
