Fearing ‘cliff,’ investors finish brutal week


Markets gained little as investors look to Washington to work out a deal to avoid the tax hikes and government spending cuts set to take effect Jan. 1. European stocks also fell on fiscal cliff concerns. Walt Disney fell on flat ad sales at its ESPN unit, and Groupon slumped on Europe’s economic problems and growth that failed to meet expectations.
