Dell sales forecast misses estimates amid PC-industry slump


Dell slumped after it forecast a fourth straight quarter of declining sales as falling demand for PCs overshadows Dell’s efforts to diversify into more profitable products like storage, software, and services. Fourth-quarter revenue will be up to $14.4 billion, the Texas company said. That’s less than the $14.5 billion average estimate. In last year’s fourth quarter, revenue was $16 billion.
