Japan Airlines cancels Boston-Tokyo service for Feb. 2, Feb. 3

Japan Airlines has canceled its Boston-Tokyo service on Feb. 2 and 3, as the carrier continues to adjust its schedule to compensate for the grounded Boeing 787 Dreamliner that normally serves the route.

The airline previously canceled its Jan. 30 Boston-Tokyo flight. The airline will continue to operate its other daily Boston flights on a Boeing 777 between the two cities, with departure times delayed by about six hours on designated days.

The worldwide fleet of 787s were grounded by aviation authorities last week after several battery fires, including one at Logan International Airport. The airline is also adjusting its 787 service between Tokyo and San Diego.
