Whole Foods Market will open in Brookline next week, in the site of the old Johnnie’s Fresh Market.
The company said Wednesday afternoon that it will open April 11 at 8 a.m. at 1028 Beacon St., near the St. Mary’s T stop.
The 8,000-square-foot store is Whole Foods’ smallest US location. The scaled-down store will offer a full grocery shop experience, according to the company. It will have quick-serve and ready to eat items and a coffee bar and plans to have an outside seating area.
The Brookline grocery store will be Whole Foods’ 22d location in Massachusetts and will have 75 employees. It will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Texas-based Whole Foods said last year that it would be taking over the Johnnie’s Fresh Market space and five other Johnnie’s Foodmaster locations by the fall of this year.
