Shares of Datawatch Corp., a Chelmsford company that develops business software for data analysis, surged Tuesday, a day after it reported that it has agreed to acquire Panopticon Software AB. Panopticon is privately held Swedish company that specializes in the delivery of real-time visual data-discovery solutions. The deal is valued at about $31.4 million. Completion of the transaction is subject to the approval of Datawatch’s stockholders.
