Massachusetts gas prices fall 5 cents a gallon in AAA’s latest weekly survey

Massachusetts gas prices averaged $3.38 a gallon in the latest weekly AAA survey, down 5 cents from the previous week’s average, AAA Southern New England said Tuesday.

Prices locally are 20 cents lower than they were a month ago, AAA Southern New England added.

The current Massachusetts average is 4 cents higher than the current national average of $3.34 a gallon. A year ago at this time, the Massachusetts average price was 45 cents higher at $3.83.

In the latest weekly Massachusetts survey, there was a price range of 29 cents, from a low of $3.26 to a high of $3.55.

AAA’s weekly surveys focus on self-serve, regular unleaded gas.
