Hershey expects 2014 products shipped early to some retailers to boost fourth-quarter results.

Hershey Co. gained 3.1 percent, giving the chocolate maker’s stock a record close three days before Halloween. Last week, the company said third-quarter net income rose 32 percent as demand for both its well-known candies and new products increased in the United States and internationally and it booked fewer charges. Profit rose to $233 million, or $1.03 per share. Revenue rose 6 percent to $1.85 billion.
