    Fidelity’s tomato farm recovers from infestation

    Backyard Farms is again harvesting tomatoes, five months after whiteflies destroyed its plants in Madison, Maine. Owned by Boston’s Fidelity Investments, the farm grows tomatoes in greenhouses, so they are available even in winter. The new crop appears to be thriving. Says enthusiastic sales chief Tim Cunniff: “It’s a sexy box of fruit.” Maine’s governor is expected at a celebration Jan. 8.
