iRobot stock soars after profit, revenue rise

A lot of people must hate housework: Sales of Roomba robotic vacuums drove iRobot Corp.’s quarterly sales up 25 percent from a year earlier to $126.3 million. The Bedford company earned 11 cents per share, up from a loss of 21 cents a year before. Revenue from home robots rose nearly 31 percent to $108.3 million. In 2014, iRobot expects to earn $1.08 a share on sales of $565 million, based on the midpoint of its guidance.
