Hot dogs are generally regarded as the meat option of choice for baseball fans, but the hamburger is also getting its due.

In a nod to culinary diversity, Tasty Burger and the Boston Red Sox said that Tasty Burger has been named the Official Burger of the Boston Red Sox.

What’s more, hungry fans will be able to chow down on this new official burger at a Tasty Burger concession stand in the Third Base Deck section of Fenway Park, said Tasty Burger, which notes that the steers that yield its burgers eat a “100-percent vegetarian grass and grain diet.”

Tasty Burger added that it plans to devise specialty ‘‘Fan Favorite Burgers’’ that will only be served inside Fenway. Fans will be asked to use social media to help pick favorites that will be featured during various homestands.

Part of Tasty Burger’s strategy at its existing restaurants is to offer a “burger of the day.” A recent burger du jour, for example, was the “1969 Housewife’s Burger,” which accessorized the beef with French onion dip and crispy fried onions. (Suggested beer pairing: Coors Banquet.)

Tasty Burger will draw upon its burger of the day concept in developing Fan Favorite Burger candidates, Tasty Burger co-owner Brian Reyelt said.

Fenway Park’s Third Base Deck will be the chain’s fourth location. It also operates locations in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood, South Boston, and Harvard Square. A fifth Tasty Burger is scheduled to open in Back Bay Station this summer.
