Harvard hosts nonprofit board recruitment fair

Have you ever wanted to serve on a nonprofit board? If so, here’s your chance.

On Monday evening, nearly 60 nonprofit organizations will gather at the Harvard Club of Boston for a nonprofit board recruitment fair. The annual event, now in its third year, is free and open to the public.

“This is a way to connect with organizations that have specific board needs or specific volunteer needs,” said Travis Lovett, director of the Center for Public Interest Careers at Harvard College, which is sponsoring the event with the Harvard Alumni Association and Harvard Club.

“It gets kind of tiring when you constantly just ask alums for money,” he added, “so this is a nice way to ask them to basically bring their time, energy, and enthusiasm to organizations.”

The fair will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Harvard Club at 374 Commonwealth Ave. You do not have to be a Harvard alum to attend.
