A massive inflatable maze called the Pentalum is among the coming attractions at The Lawn on D outdoor event space, which reopens May 15 for a second season of live music, food trucks, and quirky activities.
Designed by Alan Parkinson and his British company, Architects of Air, the space-age structure measures 169 feet long by 100 feet wide. For a $5 admission fee, it will be open for walk-throughs May 28-31.
But first, kickoff weekend on the Lawn will include a dance party, an outdoor bar, and the return of Swing Time — an interactive art exhibit featuring glowing, oversize tire swings.
When there is no special event, the 2.7-acre patch of grass next to the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center will offer picnic tables and free Wi-Fi throughout the summer and fall, plus a weekly concert series on Friday afternoons.
