The owner of a Fort Point parking garage has filed detailed plans to add two stories of office space in the booming neighborhood near downtown.
Berkeley Investments, Inc., said it wants to add about 55,000 square feet of office space to the top of its eight-story building at 22 Boston Wharf Road. The bottom six stories of the building have 583 parking spots, and the top two existing floors are also office space. The real estate investor also said it wants to add 3,000 feet of ground-level retail.
The cost of the project was not specified.
Construction work would begin in March and take about a year to wrap up, according to the developer’s proposed schedule. It would be the second vertical addition Berkeley has done in the neighborhood, it said in plans filed with the city this week.Jack Newsham can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
