Mass. unemployment rate remains steady at 4.7% in July

The Massachusetts unemployment rate remained steady at 4.7 percent in July as the state added 7,200 jobs, according to the state labor department.

June’s unemployment rate, previously reported at 4.6 percent, was revised upward.

Education and health services accounted for 3,600 jobs, or half of the jobs added last month. Professional, scientific, and business services added another 2,000 workers, the state said.
