Another Boston-brand has tapped its way onto the “Dancing with the Stars” bandwagon.
Rue La La, the online retailer, announced Monday that it has inked a partnership deal with the ABC television show to offer dancing-themed shopping experiences.
Rue La La will feature the first dancing boutique on Monday, to coincide with the show’s season premier. The online retailer will also offer “Dancing with the Stars” content, such as interviews with the show’s costume designers, on its fashion feed, Rue Now, the company said.
“This is a very natural partnership for us,” said Trisha Spillane, a spokeswoman for Rue La La.
But shoppers won’t be able to buy the elaborate feathered and sequined concoctions from the show on Rue La La. The site, instead, will spotlight clothes that the rest of us can put on for a night out dancing, including heels, dresses and leather pants, the company said.
While Rue La La will showcase a dancing wardrobe, legendary Boston College quarterback Doug Flutie will show off his footwork on “Dancing with the Stars” as a contestant.
Flutie, 53, who also played for the New England Patriots is among several athletes competing for the Mirrorball Trophy.
No word yet on whether Flutie will offer any fashion or foxtrot tips on Rue La La.
