US mortgage rates

New numbers for the average 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage will be released Thursday. Last week, Freddie Mac reported the average 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage increased to 3.66 percent from 3.59 percent the week before.


Sarepta release due

Sarepta Therapeutics Inc., whose drug to treat Duchenne muscular dystrophy recently failed to meet the Food and Drug Administration’s standard for accelerated approval, is expected to release an earnings report for the fiscal quarter that ended in March.


Pitch perfect

The Newton-Needham Regional Chamber is sponsoring an event on how to pitch to investors. Attendees will learn how to craft visual aids to accompany their pitch. Thursday, 7:30 to 9 a.m., Wellesley College Club, 727 Washington St., Wellesley. Free.



Connecting Women to capital

The Boston Women’s Venture Fund will host a summit sponsored by The Boston Globe and a number of other local businesses. The event will feature panel discussions with entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and business professionals, as well as pitch competitions and networking opportunities. Biomedical battle

Three early-stage biomedical companies, seqWell Inc., Prospective Research, and iHope Network, will be giving “Shark Tank”-style presentations at an event sponsored by the North Shore Technology Council. A panel of investors will critiques each company’s presentation and give recommendations for pitch improvements. Friday, 12:30 to 2 p.m., 100 Cummings Center, Suite 221-E, Beverly. Free to $15.
