Logan International Airport notched another milestone this year, recording 36 million passengers, up from 33 million in 2015, airport officials said.

Airport operator Massport and JetBlue airline celebrated by welcoming its 36 millionth passenger Wednesday, former Air Force captain Virginia Williams, who was traveling with her family to Richmond. The Chelmsford resident was presented with four round-trip tickets from JetBlue.

“JetBlue is proud to partner with Massport and Logan Airport on such an important milestone,” said Norbert Strissel, director of airport operations for JetBlue.

This year’s passenger count is Logan’s seventh straight year of growth, as the airport adds new flights, particularly on international routes. The airport is also planning a number of construction projects that will expand the international terminal and add parking.
