If you’re looking for a job, you might be in luck.
Wegmans, a popular grocery store chain that is rapidly expanding in Massachusetts, is hiring 550 new employees at its new location in Natick — 225 of whom would be full-time.
The new positions include entry-level management, customer service, and “a strong focus on restaurant and culinary roles, such as line cooks and sous chefs,” according to a statement from the company.
The company is searching now to fill the full-time jobs, and will begin looking for part-timers at a later date, according to a Wegmans representative.
“Jobs with Wegmans offer competitive pay and benefits packages, career growth and development, and flexible scheduling,” said Marybeth Stewart, Wegmans’ human resources manager for New England.
“Wegmans consistently earns its reputation as a great place to work, in part because of family ownership that fosters a caring atmosphere and an emphasis on work-life balance,” said Natick’s store manager, Rich Boscia, in the statement. “Join us: this is the perfect place to work if you’re passionate about food and want to share that passion with others.”
The new store, which will be located in the former JC Penney space at the Natick Mall, is expected to open next spring. The supermarket will span two floors and will have about 100 seats for in-store eating.
Wegmans burst onto the local supermarket scene in 2011 with a store in Northborough before opening more locations in Chestnut Hill, Burlington, and Westwood.
In addition to Natick, the New York-based chain is also set to open a new branch in Medford.
