A change of plans couldn’t keep this beer garden down.
Castle Island Brewing Co. will be opening its beer garden this summer after all, finding a location at Constitution Wharf in Charlestown after a previous location fell through.
The beer garden will open on Sunday and run through the end of October, weather permitting. It will feature a 20-tap draft trailer with many of the company’s core brands, including Keeper, American Lager, Hi-Def, and Candlepin. There will also be several limited-release beers, and draft wine is expected to join the beer garden later this summer.
Last month, the brewery announced that its plan to open at Underground at Ink Block, a converted park space beneath the Southeast Expressway, had fallen through.

The company wrote on its social media pages at the time that the change was due to “circumstances beyond our control.”
Castle Island president Adam Romanow said in a statement on Friday that the company is “incredibly excited about this new location.”
“Between the unbelievable views of the harbor and the city, and the proximity to the iconic USS Constitution, we could not be happier with where we’ve landed,” he said.
The Charlestown beer garden will be open from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursdays through Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays, according to the brewery.
