It’s official: Facebook and Instagram are up and running again after users reported having problems accessing the site Wednesday afternoon.

Just before 2 a.m. Thursday morning, both social media platforms posted that their respective sites were working.

The website status tracker downdetector.com reported a spike in outage reports around midday Wednesday, which coincided with a tweet from Facebook noting that they were aware of an issue affecting their “family of apps.”

Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, also posted a tweet about the outage Wednesday evening and downdetector.com indicated an outage among some users that was mostly concentrated in the northeast.
