A Boston story in 50 words

Walking through the Boston Common many years ago I remember an encounter with a kid with a shoeshine box. He approached me and said, “Shine for a dime?” Sounded like a real good deal, I thought.

As he passed me he said, “a quarter for a good one.”

    Smart kid.
