Hi! My name is David. I love superheroes.
David is 10, a thoughtful, kind boy with an engaging personality. He likes being outdoors and especially loves to hike, swim, or ride his bicycle. He is energetic and plays well in a group; he enjoys a game of catch or kickball, but also likes playing basketball on a team.
David likes receiving one-on-one attention from adults. He has a good sense of humor, and likes reading comic books. He is currently working at third-grade level and shows strength in math, but has some difficulty demonstrating how much he knows. David has an Individualized Education Program to assist him in school.
In the group home setting where he lives, he has formed positive relationships with his peers and the staff. Although he can demonstrate oppositional behaviors, David can also be insightful and express his feelings.
According to his worker, he would continue to thrive in a home with two experienced parents who can provide him with both structure and nurturing. He should be the youngest or only child in the home.
David, who is of Hispanic and Caucasian descent, would do well with a family who can support his continued visits with his birth family and encourage his growth through therapy.
To learn more about David, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-542-3678 or visit www.mareinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have “a permanent place to call home.”
MARE’s 4th annual Walk for Adoption — A Walk Home — will be held on Sunday, May 19, at Jordan’s Furniture in East Taunton. From 10 a.m.-1 p.m., this family-friendly 5K (or less) event is an indoor-outdoor happening. Enjoy games, arts and crafts, entertainment, and food — maybe win a prize! — all while raising money for adoption.
