SUNDAY’S CHILDREN

Sunday’s Children are Aleeanna, 7, and Savannah, 9

Hi! We are Aleeanna (left) and Savannah (right) and we love to talk. Aleeanna likes playing with dolls. Savannah likes video games.

Social, happy, and very close are these two sisters Aleeanna, 7, and Savannah, 9. Of Caucasian and Hispanic descent, they are bilingual.

Aleeanna likes to be called Arly. She loves attention and enjoys playing with dolls, playing dress-up, and putting on makeup. She is very engaging with both adults and peers and has a lot of friends. She is doing well in school and is on target developmentally. She can sometimes struggle with boundaries, and does best with a high level of supervision.

Savannah is a loving and caring child who also likes to interact with people. She enjoys watching television and playing video games. In school, Savannah benefits from an Individualized Education Program and is taught in a substantially separate classroom environment over an extended school year. Like her sister, Savannah can also sometimes struggle with boundaries, and does best with a high level of supervision. She responds well to sticker charts, reward systems, and clear expectations.

The ideal family for Arly and Savannah would be two strong parents without children or whose children are older than the girls. They need a family open to contact with their birth family. The girls would thrive with a family who could give them the attention they want and the supervision they need.

Explore adoption

Attend “The Adoption Option” event and learn more about adopting from foster care on Sunday morning, Sept. 29, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Jordan’s Furniture, 50 Walkers Brook Drive, in Reading.

Prospective adoptive parents, particularly those new to foster care adoption, are invited. Attend an orientation to the adoption process, speak with social workers and experienced adoptive parents, and meet waiting children. There will be fun, games, and refreshments.

To learn more about Arly and Savannah, or to RSVP to the adoption party, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.mareinc.org.
