Setback for Mario Batali and Boston restaurant

Fans of acclaimed chef Mario Batali got some troubling news Monday night via Twitter. Batali, whose much-anticipated Babbo Pizzeria e Enoteca was set to open later this year in Fort Point, has apparently hit a roadblock. “A setback on . . . our path to cooking in Boston! Dang,” Batali tweeted to his half-million followers. The chef-author-TV personality behind the famed Babbo in New York as well as Del Posto, Eataly NYC, and OTTO, had his sights set on a Summer Street location, but for now, according to his Tumblr site, that plan “will not come to fruition.” The silver lining? Batali says he will continue to search for “the perfect location” to serve hungry Bostonians.
