My name is Francisco. I am fluent in Spanish and English. I like to compete in sports.
Francisco is a charismatic and well-spoken 10-year-old of Latino descent. Fun and full of charm, he is described by his foster family as humorous, sociable, talkative, compassionate, and friendly.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, he is also an excellent artist and loves to draw. Basketball is his favorite sport and he plays on a local team. When he is not playing, he is riding his bike or helping his foster father on a project around the house. Francisco’s nature is naturally helpful and he offers his assistance to whoever needs it.
Francisco is in third grade and is very bright. He gets along well with his teachers and classmates and has an Individualized Education Program to provide support for his academics.
Francisco would do well in almost any family constellation, with other children of any age or without children. His new family will need to provide him with love, stability, and a safe environment in which to grow to his fullest potential. Francisco will need four visits a year with his brother who lives in Western Massachusetts, as well as weekly phone calls.
Adoption open house
On Saturday, March 8, at the Salvation Army Kroc Center in Dorchester, the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) will host an Adoption Information Open House.
Designed especially for those new to the idea of adoption, the 11 a.m.-2 p.m. program at 650 Dudley St. gives adults the opportunity to learn about adoption from experienced adoptive families and local social workers. Learn about the adoption process, the hundreds of children who are waiting for families, and the support services available for adoptive families and children.
Light refreshments are included. The open house, like adoption from foster care, is free.
For more information or to RSVP to the open house, or to learn more about Francisco, call 617-542-3678 or visit www.mareinc.org.
