Literary frontierswomen

Novels, poetry, essays, children’s literature, biographies, histories, and short stories have been penned by women since the 17th century, and since March is Women’s History Month, let’s celebrate them at “Public Women, Private Lives.” The exhibit of published text and personal correspondence is weighted toward established and lesser-known writers who lived in or came from Boston and surrounding parts. Included are Emily Dickinson, Louisa May Alcott, and Julia Ward Howe. Mon-Fri 9 a.m.-5 p.m. through May 30. Free. Faustian While at the Boston University School of the Arts, Anne S. Faust majored in painting. But for 30 years, the Louisiana artist has revealed her knowledge of birds and their habitats through silkscreen printmaking. Work by the Master Wildlife Artist (the first woman and printmaker to receive the award in 1999 from the Woodson Art Museum) is at “A Life List in Silkscreen: The Art of Anne S.
