Visit the ultrachic Freepoint Hotel (you’d never guess that it was once a Best Western) in Cambridge on May 10 for its inaugural podcast series. “TalkingPoint: Conversations With Podcasters at Freepoint Hotel” features conversations with podcast creators and hosts; the first one spotlights Eric Cacciatore of the hugely popular Restaurant Unstoppable, who shares the nitty-gritty details of restaurant life.

He’ll record a live episode with Freepoint Kitchen & Cocktails executive chef Matthew Gaudet (formerly of West Bridge), then host a question-and-answer session moderated by NESN “Dining Playbook” host Jenny Johnson.

The hotel takes its podcasting seriously: It partnered with RadioPublic, a Boston-based app for on-demand podcasts, curated playlists, and listening recommendations for guests.

As for you, partygoing local? Mix, mingle, and feast on an a la carte menu of bourbon-apple-and-cheddar grilled cheese sandwiches and vodka swirled with passion fruit, grapefruit, and spices.

And if restaurants aren’t your thing? The series happens every month. Soon to come: evenings with podcasts like Worst Bestsellers (books, of course) and Millennial (lessons in coping with your 20s — helpful!). The event is free and starts at 6:30 p.m.
