A unicorn-themed Zipcar is coming, if you’re into that kind of thing

Move over, Unicorn Frappuccino.

Zipcar is butting its way into the unicorn trend with a new unicorn-themed vehicle that the company describes as a “majestic pink, purple and blue Honda Civic topped with a silver unicorn horn.”

“We’re a brand that’s known for stunts,” says Zipcar spokeswoman Katelyn Chesley. “We’re really committed to providing over-the-top experiences for our customers, and we thought, what better way to do that than jumping on the trend and offering a unicorn car?”

Inside, the car will feature “sparkly floor mats, fuzzy seat covers, sequined pillows and purple LED lights.”

It even boasts a unicorn-y name — “Fabucorn Starbottom,” which edged out runner-up “Sprinkles McFeatherhoof.”

“We were buzzing internally about the unicorn trend, and started to brainstorm and came up with a bunch of ways that we could do it,” Chesley says.

The unicorn car is just the latest specialty vehicle the Boston-based company has sent out onto the local streets.

At Christmas, it offered a vehicle designed to look like Santa’s sleigh, complete with decorative antlers, a special Christmas-themed playlist, and Christmas candy. And in response to the Pokemon Go craze, the company offered a special one-day chauffeur service to transport users from one Poke-location to the next.

The unicorn vehicle will be available for rental for a week, beginning Thursday at noon and running through Thursday, June 29, at 3 p.m.

It will rent for $7 an hour. Sadly, daily unicorn rates are not available, according to Zipcar.
