Get ready to say goodbye to the shiplap: Chip and Joanna Gaines of HGTV fame have announced that the upcoming fifth season of “Fixer Upper” will be the last.

The couple announced the news in a video posted to their website on Tuesday.

“While we are confident that this is the right choice for us, it has for sure not been an easy one to come to terms with,” they said in a blog post accompanying the video. “Our family has grown up alongside yours, and we have felt you rooting us on from the other side of the screen. How bittersweet to say goodbye to the very thing that introduced us all in the first place.”

“Fixer Upper” has been a huge hit for the home improvement cable network, driven by the Gaines’ television chemistry and their casual-but-stylish renovations of countless Waco, Texas-area ranches.

The final season will air starting in November, and a “Fixer Upper” spinoff called “Behind the Design” is also in the works.

And don’t worry, Chip and Joanna say they’ll keep on renovating houses in Waco.

“Our plan is to take this time to shore up and strengthen the spots that are weak, rest the places that are tired, and give lots of love and attention to both our family and our businesses,” the couple said.
