    Bird sightings on Cape Cod

    Recent bird sightings on Cape Cod (as of Nov. 28) as reported to the Massachusetts Audubon Society.

    An ash-throated flycatcher was found at High Head in Truro.

    A summer tanager was seen at Scussett Beach State Reservation in Sandwich.

    Sightings at Race Point in Provincetown included 82 great shearwaters, 1 sooty shearwater, 2 Manx shearwaters, 4 pomarine jaegers, 175 razorbills, 300 black-legged kittiwakes, 150 Bonaparte’s gulls, an Iceland gull, 20 common terns, and 4 common ravens.

    Other sightings around the Cape included 6 Forster’s terns in Sandwich, 5 American oystercatchers and 2 willets at Forest Beach in Chatham, snowy owls in Eastham and Orleans, a blue-winged warbler, a Tennessee warbler, and two orange-crowned warblers at Austin Smith Sanctuary in Eastham, a grasshopper sparrow and a white-eyed vireo at Pochet Island in Orleans, and another white-eyed vireo and a yellow-throated vireo in Wellfleet.
